Frank contacted me back in December to see if I would be available for the Albany St. Patrick’s Day parade to photograph his proposal. The parade is special to him for a couple reasons!
1. In previous years, he has marched in the parade representing the Guilderland Fire Department
&
2. He met his (now fiancé) Maria at the parade two years ago!
Frank put SO much thought into this proposal- the ring, the day, the sign, who would help him, how they would help, what he would wear, the after party, etc. And watching him execute his plan the day of was just heart melting.
That’s something SO special about being involved in a proposal, you get to watch this secret unfold, this life changing event happen from start to finish.
I could talk about it forever, but I would like my pictures to help tell the story! So Enjoy!!! <3 <3 <3
If you were a part of this proposal, I would love to hear YOUR version in the comments!
Frank had maps printed up of where he wanted everything to happen. He stopped by the firehouse to go over the plan with the boys.
While they went over the plans, I borrowed the ring for it’s close up. It’s stunning, right?
Frank was so sweet, he was asking “So when do I put it on her finger?”. He figured a practice round couldn’t hurt.
All the guys headed out to the truck bay and wanted to practice rolling out the sign before they stashed it in the truck.
Frank makes sure everyone is ready.
One last look at the ring, and off they go!
Now we were at the parade and it was raining and freezing cold. Maria thought I was just down there photographing the parade so I was able to snap a few photos of her with Frank before the big moment!
I saw the truck way up the hill, I got the text saying “2 minute warning”, and Frank was busy getting the ring ready. Inside we were all just bursting and I look over at sweet, unsuspecting Maria and she caught me and graciously smiled. I love that in the photo you can tell she doesn’t even have a clue…
The Commissioner spots them on the street and radios to the boys their location and to get the sign ready. Love the look on Frank’s face.
The guys prep the sign….
Maria hadn’t seen the sign yet and Frank was trying to pull her out onto the street. She didn’t know what was happening so she was trying to stop him!! I could hear her saying “What are you doing?” as her sisters and friends were shouting “go with him! go with him!”
…..
Now the picture is coming together for her…
Theses photos need no explanation…<3
And obviously, She said YES!
Her family had been hiding at the parade and they were there to greet her with congratulations!
This one gets me right in the feels!
I LOVE this photo…Look at how proud Frank is…
The news caught the proposal and wanted to talk to them!
Cheers!
But the surprises didn’t end there, I told you, Frank thought of everything. After the proposal he had arranged for all of their family members to meet for a celebration!
Yes Maria, MORE surprises!
Lots of hugs, lots of happy tears…
Frank’s Dad gave a sweet and emotional speech…
Tears were shed….
And they lived happily ever after….
